We all have stuff. Nobody is saying you have got to be perfect. When you accept Jesus, you just start with Jesus. Nobody ever argued that He was not who He said He was. And there are two billion people alive today who say, I truly believe He is who He said He was, the Son of God, who came to pay for the sins of mankind.
His crucifixion was for me, and for you, and for anybody who will just believe. That is where you start, and everything else works itself out, however it works itself out. But that is where you have got to start.

The prayer
This is the same prayer David prays with guests. There is no pressure and no magic in the words themselves. God hears the heart behind them. Read it slowly. Say it out loud if you can. Mean it.
Jesus, I believe that you are the Son of God,
and that you died on the cross for me.
I invite you into my life right now.
I ask you to forgive me for anything I've done wrong,
and help me to live for you.
Holy Spirit, I give you permission to come into my heart.
Fill me up with your presence.
Help me to hear your voice.
In Jesus' name, amen.
